Half Acre Botanicals

The talk track

Asked Plainly

Short answers. The tin is Confluence, a cosmetic. When a kettle is not ready, we say so here.

What kind of company are you?

A small botanical cosmetics maker in Wilmington, Delaware. We make salves for external use.

Where are you?

300 Half Acre Drive, Wilmington, Delaware.

How do I write you?

Email hello@halfacrebotanicals.com.

Can I buy a tin?

Yes. Write hello@. Tins leave by hand in Wilmington. We do not take a shipping address for a tin in the mail.

What if you are between batches?

Then there is no tin to sell. A kettle we are not satisfied with stays in the house. Write anyway. When the next tin is one we would keep, you will hear.

I already have an early tin. Is that Confluence?

Same name, not the finished product. If it is Batch 01, it is the first kettle — a draft. Do not introduce that tin as the product.

I used a later tin and I want another.

Yes. Write hello@ and say it is a second tin, or that it is for someone else. Meet-up in Wilmington until we ship.

Do you ship?

Not yet. Meet-up in the Wilmington area.

Is it all plants?

No. Botanical base, plus a mineral and two purified compounds.

What is it?

A handmade botanical salve for your skin.

Will it tingle?

Maybe. Some people feel a strong tingle. Some barely feel it. Intensity varies, and that’s normal. If you notice a tingle, that’s the Acmella.

What’s the color?

Olive-sage. It may mark light fabric before it sets.

Why does the tin on the site look bluer than the one in my hand?

Because the picture is a studio rendering of the color we are aiming for, not a photograph. If yours is Batch 01, the fill is olive-sage. That was the first kettle.

Is it vegan?

No. Beeswax.

For children?

No. Adults. For external use only. Do not apply to broken or abraded skin. Do not use when nursing. Keep away from eyes. Contains plants from the daisy family (Asteraceae). If you react to ragweed or daisies, test a small patch first.
